There are oh so many things to be thankful for this year. It has been a year full of fulfilling work, life milestones, and tons of developmental milestones for our son. But there’s even more than that…
When I listed off some of the most basic things in an earlier post this month, I didn’t start with the absolute basic: LIFE. I am so so thankful for every day I’m alive. I am so thankful for the lives of my friends and family.
I am thankful that we do not live day to day fearing for our lives. That we live in a country that allows us free speech, the freedom to practice our religion peacefully, the freedom to educate both sexes and work towards equality.
In light of recent world events, I am even more thankful for all those things. And in light of how many friends have had medical scares either for themselves or their children in the last few years, I am thankful every day for the current health I enjoy and the strong, incredibly active child I have.
I am thankful for my work in the arts and how it reminds me in a consistent way that we are mortal and life is precious and finite. I used to find that really scary and really depressing. I still find it pretty scary, but I also find that it overwhelms me with gratitude for any time we get.
I am thankful for all the people who have been in my life this year. Near or far, frequently or just for a season. THANK YOU for making our lives so full, so happy, so supported.
And an extra special thanks to the loves of my life my husband and my son:
Happy Thanksgiving all 🙂
