Sharing Knowledge: Seasons of SLOW are NECESSARY

One of my favorite (and hardest) lessons I’ve learned (over and over again) the past decade is that we can’t be full speed ahead all the time, that life is made for seasons and some of those seasons are seasons of slowing down. While some people feel this pull toward slowing down in the winter, here in Phoenix I’ve always felt a pull toward a bit of a reverse hibernation- when the highs of 115 call me toward a rhythm of siestas and slowing down to enjoy that ice cream cone before it melts. Still a Storyteller: Thoughts on Returning to the Stage after a Long Break…

My Favorite Books I Read in 2023

I love always learning more. The knowledge I gain from both fiction and nonfiction selections is a core piece of me. And while one of my goals last year was to read LESS that was in service of absorbing more and also of using reading for the pleasure and tool I want it to be instead of the escapism it had become my last pregnancy and the subsequent pandemic… still, I managed to read almost 75 books last year and These are my top 10 (and a few honorable mentions) in no particular order Continue reading

The Good, the Bad, and the Beautiful of Breastfeeding…

But since this first week of August is World Breastfeeding Week, AND last month I hit my pie in the sky, didn’t think I could do it in my wildest dreams goal of six months breastfeeding, I thought it was finally the right time to publish these thoughts on my nursing journey.
