Can I tell you a secret? I try to be a pretty positive person, but August is my least favorite month. It is so crazy hot here in Phoenix and the heat isn’t even close to being over, plus the school year feels like it keeps starting earlier and earlier and while that was something I really looked forward to as a kid, I kind of hate it as a parent. I love my time with the kids over the summer and I love not having to remember everyone’s academic schedules and needs. So I am bracing for this month but I know that if I can get through these next two months then my favorite time of year will be right around the corner. Before I get too far into the future though, let’s recap July and look at what I’m going to try and focus on as we head into a new school year… Continue reading

2022: Part 2- Reassessing Goals and July Tending list
The year is halfway over! In my family, it had a tumultuous start with what felt like non stop illness for one member or another from January through March, then the end of school year chaos hit… but it would be disingenuous to say it was all chaos and frustration- we took an incredible spring break trip, I completed two half marathons (including my first out of state race!), we celebrated our 10th anniversary, and we returned to theatre after a very long hiatus. So it has been busy with good stuff as well as challenging stuff. But at this halfway point I wanted to reassess some of my goals and focuses for the year before I dove in to my July tending list. April Recap and May Goals
April was a hard, exhausting month over here. We had illness and medical stuff and anxiety and the regular ups and downs of life and school stuff with the kids. There were definitely wonderful moments, but I felt really thrown off and am ready for a new month to pivot and refocus. I was SO ready to work on my Powersheets prep for this new month. Continue reading

Numbering my Days
I’m not typically a numbers person but I am trying to reassess that and play with some numbers outside of just calculating the times of my mile splits so…
I am publishing this on April 26, 2022. Less than a week before my 36th birthday. Let’s break that down a bit: Continue reading

March Recap and April Goals
March is done! Whenever Spring break falls always feels like a weirdly long and short month all at once. Maybe it’s the residual trauma of marking when the world shut down? Maybe it’s just the stage we are in with early school age kids? Here’s how my March went and what I’m focusing on for April: Continue reading

February Tending List and a Peak at my 2022 Goals…
Every year I take some time in early December to do my Powersheets prep and look back at the progress I made that year and what I want to focus on during the next. I let all those ideas sit through the chaos of the holidays and revisit them the very end of December or early January to finalize my goals for the new year. Continue reading

Bye Bye November, Hello Holiday Season!
Can you believe it is December?! Maybe not everyone feels the same, but November FLEW by even more than usual this year. So here we are… my final tending list of 2021… Continue reading

October Wrap Up and November Goals
Here we are… in November of 2021. The year has been a strange roller coaster but we’ve made it to the holidays which means if you blink it will be 2022 and I’ll be starting on a whole new set of themes and re-evaluating my goals with the 2022 Powersheets. But I don’t want to get too far ahead of myself so in the meantime, here is my October Re-cap and November Tending List… Continue reading

September Recap and October Goals
I love that we are getting into hiking season and cooler weather here in Phoenix! It is also Powersheets launch day!!! This always fills me with a little bit of hope that life goes on and reassures me that I’ll have a nice little personal retreat to reflect on priorities and what I want for the new year. If you want to go through Powersheets with me next year, you can order them HERE.
(The tending lists in the Powerhseets are more or less what shows up here in my monthly goal/recap posts but the magic of this tool is in the prep work and reflecting on what you want your big picture goals to be and why!)
