Happy New Year friends! I hope however you celebrated you found some happiness and peace. We had a low key New Year’s Eve and a very focused New Year’s Day preparing, cleaning, and shopping for things we need as we enter the home stretch of my pregnancy. I also made a decadent treat for us to fight off the chill! Continue reading

2017: The year of Ds
So I already revealed a few of the Ds I’m focusing on next year: making or trying out new or special Drinks, bringing back Dating my husband as a priority, and the Ds that relate to my family- my boys whose names start with D and my DAUGHTER coming next month. I’m talking about my last areas of blog focus today and then I will probably be a bit quiet until the new year or a bit thereafter as we really focus on preparing for baby’s arrival! Continue reading
Year End Wrap Up: Creating
After finishing up Macbeth earlier this year, and having a lot of health problems that kept me home once I got pregnant, I was worried my creative outlets might dry up. But where God closes a door he truly opens a window… or perhaps several! So it seems fitting to wrap up this year with a very handmade christmas! Continue reading
A Favorite Christmas Tradition…
There are so many things I love about the Christmas and Advent season. The marvel of lights, the gorgeous music, the specifically Catholic traditions (I’ve been slowly adding to our nativity scene each Sunday, and when we have a little more space one of my first wish list items is an advent wreath!) D is for Family (trust me…)
One of my focuses, especially for early 2017 as we add a new member, is to be more intentional about my time together with my little family. Am I skipping ahead to Fs with this goal? Nope, they all relate to D’s. Here’s how: Continue reading
Year End Wrap Up: Chronicling

The First “D” revealed and a Year End Wrap Up: Cooking
I’ve learned a lot from consciously trying to improve my cooking and try new recipes this year. There have been ups and downs… recipes that were so forgettable I didn’t even blog about them, epic failures that we threw out, and huge wins that we will keep cooking again for years. Continue reading
Goodbye 2016, Hello 2017…
I can’t believe the year is coming to a close… where did November go?! Continue reading
Winter Warmth
Well, Phoenix finally cooled down and we are looking to warm up a bit! This is the time of year when I absolutely LOVE having a gas stove because it heats up our whole kitchen and living room and makes everything super cozy… it also minimizes how much we need to turn on our heater! Continue reading
Cultivating Memories
As we head into the holiday season, I’ve been reflecting how best to intentionally spend my time. It feels like there’s extra pressure this year to make it special as it’s the last Christmas my son will be an only child and that makes it tempting to try and do ALL THE THINGS. But I don’t want to do all the things and feel the consequences of an already difficult pregnancy under the added stress of exhaustion. And for that matter, I don’t just want the holidays to be the time we’re consciously choosing ways to make memories with our kids. Continue reading
