I might decide to delete this later, but as I sit down to write this post with very limited time all I can think about is “Mommy guilt”- or, to be more specific, things that are objectively pretty ridiculous to feel bad about but that have at some point caused me mental agony since my becoming a mom or becoming a mom of two. Stay At Home Date Night
I knew when I picked Dating as one of the focuses of this year, that we’d have to have some stay at home date nights during the early days with our daughter. I also knew that if we didn’t make it a priority to actually label those stay at home time date nights then it was likely we’d end up choosing sleep, netflix, or getting a few more things on the “Oh my stars there’s so much we need to catch up on” list checked off. Walk Humbly: Accepting Help
I have written in several entries how much I struggle with perfectionism and how hard I am working to overcome that source of stress and unhappiness. Because of that, it is often extremely hard for me to ask for or accept help, even when I need it most. Continue reading
Red Wine Hot Chocolate
My husband and I wanted to make sure to try out this recipe before the cold days vanished as they so quickly do here in Phoenix… and since we had a bottle of wine he’d gotten me for Mother’s Day that I never got to enjoy since I found out I was pregnant shortly thereafter, this seemed like a great use for the bottle! Dessert Date? Yes Please!
I have been working hard to squeeze in some one on one time with my husband before the baby gets here and I have a few to catch up on. When my brothers gave us a gift card to Cheesecake Factory, I thought having a dessert date would be perfect! Continue reading
The Second Child Syndrome:
When I was pregnant with my son, so many people made fun of me for things like taking bump pictures every single week and keeping up diligently with not one but two baby books. Everyone warned me that the more I did for my first child, the more any subsequent progeny would just look at with added jealousy because I wouldn’t do any of it for them since I’d be too busy chasing around baby #1.
Well… sadly they were partially right… but I’m fighting back! Continue reading
A Goal is a Dream…
I’m sure many of you have heard the saying “A goal is a dream with a timeline” or “A goal is a dream with a plan” and since it’s the new year and I promised I’d share a little bit more about my goals and dreams, now seemed like a good time to write this post. Continue reading
