The year is officially halfway over and I’m ready to check in on how I did with my goals for June, what’s up for July, and a little more overview on the first half of the year. So let’s jump right in with a June recap: Continue reading

What it’s like to be a recovering perfectionist
I have described myself several times as a “recovering perfectionist” and will continue to do so for the foreseeable future. Continue reading

Well, it’s officially May! This is my favorite month because I get to celebrate ALL THE THINGS! Continue reading
How starting from zero changed everything….
I had an interesting conversation with a friend recently about my goal setting and how I stay motivated without burning out. There seem to be so many tips and tricks out there for setting and starting goals, but it becomes much harder when you hit roadblocks or realize you’ve jumped in so far so fast that you feel like you have nothing left to give. Entertaining Simplicity
You may remember a post last month where I talked about maybe giving up Entertaining as one of my “E” focuses for this year. I have done some more thinking about that and am really grateful for the feedback I got. Continue reading
The Eye Doctor Method of Household Management
I’m not the world’s greatest homemaker. I love organizing and color coding but I am not very cheerful when approaching cleaning tasks and honestly if it’s not on a list there’s a good chance I would not even notice things like baseboards that needs cleaning. Due to this trait, I have tried SO MANY Pinterest approved ideas when it comes to keeping your home clean and clutter free, but I never stick with any of them for long. It has taken me over six months of having the same task on my daily Powersheets goals to figure out a morning routine that works. Continue reading
What I’ve Learned About Gardening and what Gardening has Helped me Learn About Me…
Thank you to everyone who read my guest post over at Perfection Pending last week! I was so grateful for the positive feedback and humbled by the shares.
Today’s post is about what has become one of my favorite hobbies:
It’s been just less than a year since I took the leap and decided to try some gardening in our backyard. In that year we’ve discovered the joy of homegrown flowers, the better flavors of garden fresh veggies, and all sorts of lessons. It’s been strange having friends ask me my thoughts on their starting a backyard garden because I am by no means an expert or even what I would consider an intermediate gardener.
March Goals and February Re-cap
WOW! February has really flown by and here we are at another monthly goals check in. It was a strange month filled with fighting sickness and trying to mend my leg and all sorts of ups and downs, but it was also a month filled with progress. Continue reading
February Goals

My Seven Goals for 2018 (and how I’m starting work on them this month!)
OK, I’m weirdly nervous about writing today’s post. As I dug into my Powersheets prep work before setting these goals for the year there was a mix of things I knew were going to be important to work on and then things that snuck up and surprised me. In the end, I came up with seven goals that I’m planning to work on during 2018. And as I begin what feels like this huge undertaking, I am constantly reminding myself of the phrases “Progress not Perfection” and “little by little adds up…” So here we go, here are my 2018 goals: Continue reading
