Well, here it is, my final blog post of 2019 and I am finishing up my yearly wrap up as I close out the year of F and get ready to move on to focusing on the letter G… Continue reading

Fitness: Running Pregnant
Mid- November of last year, I started training for my first half marathon after successfully completing my first 10K. This was thanks to the call I felt to join Team World Vision. I was struggling with my running and unsure just what I’d signed up for. Fast forward to fall of this year- I’m not training for a race, I’m training for labor, and I’m training for all the running around I know is going to come with being outnumbered once baby #3 arrives. How I Learned to Quit Being Intimidated and Love Weight Training…
Can I be honest with you? Less than a year ago I was TERRIFIED of weight training. But that started to change when I felt like I was totally stalled out on handstand progression in my yoga practice, and I was feeling a bit impatient… I knew I needed to strengthen my core, arms, and shoulders and that I needed something that I could do in smaller increments because #momlife wasn’t allowing me to attend a yoga class every day like I’d hoped- and this only intensified after I decided to train for a half marathon and almost all my focus went to running. Anyway, here’s a re-cap of how my January goals went and what’s on the tending list for February. OH, and if you want to jump on the Powersheets train… you can get them HERE (they are almost sold out of the yearly planners and those will definitely be gone by the next time I post a monthly goals post so now is the time!) Favorite Running Mantras (that are also pretty good Life Mantras)
Sometimes I need a little extra push or motivation when I’m running. And I need it to be something simple enough that I can keep it in my head while doing something physically daunting like running. Here are a few that I’ve been using this past year, and some ways they are useful for other things in life for those of you who were thinking of skipping this entry because running sounds horrible to you (I can’t blame you. I used to be you. I still am you some days…) Continue reading
Running is a mental game… but not JUST a mental game…
Can I confess something? This past year isn’t the first time I’ve tried running. I’ve been a failed athlete several times in the past and I told myself I would just never, ever be good at running. Continue reading
Goals for 2019 and my January Tending List
OK, so with introducing all my themes for the year, this post is a little later than usual… good thing there’s nothing magical about January 1st! So here’s a brief overview of my goals for the year and how I’m starting progress on some of them this month: Continue reading
