The year is officially halfway over and I’m ready to check in on how I did with my goals for June, what’s up for July, and a little more overview on the first half of the year. So let’s jump right in with a June recap: Continue reading

2017: How I’m doing on my goals 6 months in- and plans for the second half of the year!
So I am definitely in that weird time flux of having a baby again and feeling like everything is going so fast and so slow all at once. On the one hand I can’t believe how much has happened in the last six months. It feels like much more time should have passed for all this to be possible. On the other I feel like it has been a complete whirlwind and I’m going to blink and it will be December. I’m guessing at least some of you feel the same! I just filled out my Powersheets for the month of July and before jumping into a few things there I wanted to celebrate some of the little by little progress that’s happened during the first half of the year… Continue reading
Blast from the Past
This is a post I started drafting just after our big trip last month. Since then it has been quite delayed due to mourning my grandma and then having our whole family get sick with the cold/sinus infection that just won’t quit! We’ve been exhausted and are still not quite back to normal but slowly trying to get there. Today is my grandma’s memorial and I debated waiting to finish this post until that and father’s day was over this weekend, but I feel like there’s always a reason to put it off until tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow so may as well start today, right? So let’s get started:
Since my last post on chronicling I have done a TON of work in this area. Continue reading
Celebrating REST
So it’s been a while since I posted! Mostly because I didn’t have a lot of time or wifi on our vacation. Also, our yard did not like being neglected for over two weeks. whoops…) but this post is a good start and one I actually wrote while on vacation but never had a chance to post… Continue reading
Chronicling: Project Life Travel Core Kit
Macbeth opens in ONE WEEK! So that means it is crunch time over here, but I wanted to share a little update on chronicling. I mentioned that I will be trying a variety of memory keeping strategies this year and one of them was the physical Project Life products. I decided the place I wanted to start was with my HONEYMOON trip to Italy! Continue reading

“Rather, it gives value to survival” – To friendships past, present, and future
This post is on this month’s theme of BLOOM and on one of the quotes that inspired it:
I know I’ve mentioned in a few posts that I have been trying to build a community closer to home. I wanted to write a post on one of the beautiful communities I already have somewhere else. But it kind of spiraled out from there… This week my family and I went to visit some dear college friends in California. What an incredible time of joy and renewal.
There’s a Bible verse that was really popular at Pepperdine- where I went to undergraduate school at Seaver College. It seemed that every other Bible study or recruitment person or spiritual life advisor I talked to this verse came up. “As Iron sharpens iron so one person sharpens another” Or, to put it in different terms than the Psalms do… it’s the pretty common belief that you tend become like the people you spend the most time with, so choose carefully.
