“O Brave New World! That has such people in it” – that Tempest line is one of my favorites and I think about it any time I travel some place new that shakes me out of my comfort zone- whether that be a brand new country, a different city or state, just a new local trail I haven’t explored before. All month I’ll be wrapping up the themes of the year, and today’s post is looking back on the theme of exploring. Continue reading
How I Survived (and even DELIGHTED in) a Road Trip with Both my Littles…
This article was originally published on Perfection Pending, you can find it HERE. Perfection Pending is a fun parenting blog and I was delighted to contribute. They are actually sharing a syndicated post of mine next week, which I’ll be sure to share on my social media channels. While I wrote this post just after our summer trip to California, I figured now was a good time to repost in case any parents are planning to travel by car during the upcoming holidays! Blast from the Past
This is a post I started drafting just after our big trip last month. Since then it has been quite delayed due to mourning my grandma and then having our whole family get sick with the cold/sinus infection that just won’t quit! We’ve been exhausted and are still not quite back to normal but slowly trying to get there. Today is my grandma’s memorial and I debated waiting to finish this post until that and father’s day was over this weekend, but I feel like there’s always a reason to put it off until tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow so may as well start today, right? So let’s get started:
Since my last post on chronicling I have done a TON of work in this area. Continue reading
Celebrating REST
So it’s been a while since I posted! Mostly because I didn’t have a lot of time or wifi on our vacation. But now we’re home and I’m trying to play catch up on blog posts amid playing catch up on life in general (traveling always means SO MUCH LAUNDRY! Also, our yard did not like being neglected for over two weeks. whoops…) but this post is a good start and one I actually wrote while on vacation but never had a chance to post… Continue reading
C is for CELBRATE!

Change is HARD
You may have noticed that I’ve written less this month than usual. Something which is maybe odd considering I just got a bunch of time back now that Macbeth is over. Well, let’s just say I’m holding out hope that April Showers bring May flowers… Continue reading
Chronicling: Project Life Travel Core Kit
Macbeth opens in ONE WEEK! So that means it is crunch time over here, but I wanted to share a little update on chronicling. I mentioned that I will be trying a variety of memory keeping strategies this year and one of them was the physical Project Life products. I decided the place I wanted to start was with my HONEYMOON trip to Italy! Continue reading
Baking #24: High Tea and Scones
I few weeks ago, I was invited over by a dear friend for a playmate and tea time. It was FABULOUS. She had these incredible “southern style” scones to go with it- more like biscuits actually and my son and I couldn’t stop eating them. Absolutely heavenly and I need to get that recipe! But in the days that followed I started missing London and more traditional scones. I went to London as a summer study abroad program when I was studying at Pepperdine and while there I got to go to high tea with one of my best friends. Hands down one of my top 10 favorite travel memories. Continue reading
