A quick post on a great, super simple recipe. Sadly, pizza sauce is key component so our son could not share dinner with us the night we made these, but we will probably still make this again because they were good, filling, and healthier than ordering pizza! (Also, I think they taste better than ordering pizza- but that’s possibly ?because my Italian family has made me a pizza snob…) Continue reading

Cooking #9: Chili Adventures
Those of you that read my last cooking post about making homemade tomato sauce know that we recently got an astounding amount of food from Produce on Wheels and have been learning lots of new, fun things to use that food (as well as revisiting some old favorites) Well, included in our produce haul was over 20 green chill peppers… Continue reading
Cooking #6: Meatless Monday Duo
I have two delicious meatless recipes for you today. The first is a full meal and the second is great for a snack. A few weeks ago a fellow mom friend of mine mentioned this recipe and that it was one of her favorites and I have been looking forward to making it ever since. It’s quick, easy, delicious, and will be a great thing to bring to rehearsals with me since it isn’t a hot meal! Continue reading
Baking #33: Let the Fall Flavors begin!
So… the lesson I learned from this week’s baking venture is that it’s hard to bake when your stuff is in boxes and you aren’t quite sure where you put everything. I ended up using a pot instead of a mixing bowl to mix my dry ingredients. Continue reading
Baking # 27: Clara’s Chocolate Cake & Celebrating Company!

Baking #26: Kona Cafe Sweet Bread

Baking #24: High Tea and Scones
I few weeks ago, I was invited over by a dear friend for a playmate and tea time. It was FABULOUS. She had these incredible “southern style” scones to go with it- more like biscuits actually and my son and I couldn’t stop eating them. Absolutely heavenly and I need to get that recipe! But in the days that followed I started missing London and more traditional scones. I went to London as a summer study abroad program when I was studying at Pepperdine and while there I got to go to high tea with one of my best friends. Hands down one of my top 10 favorite travel memories. Continue reading
Baking # 23: Belated Father’s Day Treat
So obviously there was no baking post last week because between tech and the show and trying to rewrite scripts and prepare for callbacks nothing but the absolutely necessary happened. Continue reading
Baking # 21 Rosemary Bread
OK, after a month of celebrations and sweet treats, it is time to get back to some more savory baking selections. My brain is a little fried from this week, so finding inspiration for this week’s project was back to tried and true Pinterest searches. After scrolling through a staggering number of sweet breads, I saw a pin for rosemary bread I knew it was the winner. (We were reminded recently how much our family loves rosemary when a friend brought us some rosemary flavored nuts and rosemary crackers and we were instantly wondering where they’d been our whole life!) Continue reading
