Well… even with a newborn and some ups and downs and setbacks and even when we couldn’t make it out of the house… we did accomplish the goal of a date night a month. Continue reading
My husband and I snagged another date day this past weekend! It was a much needed time after a week with very little sleep and very tense news all around. When we secured our date time my only request was that we do something that would not involve us sitting down the whole time- many of our dates have been sitting at a table or sitting in a theatre and I love those, but I wanted something a tad more active. Those of you who know me know that my husband is a rockstar. We are human so we don’t have a perfect marriage but it is pretty dang wonderful and while I have no shame in shouting from the rooftops about our love, I think sometimes it can be encouraging or weirdly helpful to hear about some not so perfect times too. I knew when I picked Dating as one of the focuses of this year, that we’d have to have some stay at home date nights during the early days with our daughter. I also knew that if we didn’t make it a priority to actually label those stay at home time date nights then it was likely we’d end up choosing sleep, netflix, or getting a few more things on the “Oh my stars there’s so much we need to catch up on” list checked off. You can’t get much more typical for a date night than dinner and a movie, and that’s exactly what my husband and I did for our last planned date before the baby arrives. Continue reading
