One of my focuses, especially for early 2017 as we add a new member, is to be more intentional about my time together with my little family. Am I skipping ahead to Fs with this goal? Nope, they all relate to D’s. Here’s how: Continue reading

C is for Community…
I wrote recently about my love for fall and my gratitude that a rough summer was coming to a close. I had some idea of how isolating being so sick this summer made me, but now that I get a few days each week where I feel human again and can make it out of the house or actually cross stuff of my to-do list, it is throwing into sharp contrast how lonely I really was. Continue reading
C is for Change- my love for FALL
Today is the first day of fall! And here in Phoenix we got the unexpected treat of weather below 90 degrees and even a little bit of rain! It is still pretty warm, but it feels like a cozy day and I indulged in some hot caramel apple cider and am not hating the idea of going outside! Continue reading
Chronicling: Half a Year Down!
OK, so I know that technically the year is more than halfway over, but I was super excited this morning when my shipment from Project Life’s Christmas in July sale arrived at my door after some drama with FedEx… In spite of the rain storm and destroyed box I couldn’t wait to open my order. (I know, I lead a very exciting life… but it’s the little things, right? Especially during a summer in Phoenix.) That arrival meant I could start assembling the first half of our family album for the year. Continue reading
Blast from the Past
This is a post I started drafting just after our big trip last month. Since then it has been quite delayed due to mourning my grandma and then having our whole family get sick with the cold/sinus infection that just won’t quit! We’ve been exhausted and are still not quite back to normal but slowly trying to get there. Today is my grandma’s memorial and I debated waiting to finish this post until that and father’s day was over this weekend, but I feel like there’s always a reason to put it off until tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow so may as well start today, right? So let’s get started:
Since my last post on chronicling I have done a TON of work in this area. Continue reading
Celebrating Life
I wrote last year when my son turned 1 about some of the traditions we were starting and how we celebrated. We carried on some of those traditions this year, but his birthday felt very different this year… Continue reading
Celebrating Marriage
Today my husband and I are celebrating four beautiful years of marriage. On the one hand, seems a little strange to celebrate what I hope is a very short time in the grand scheme of our marriage, but on the other hand it is kind of staggering how much we’ve learned, grown, and loved in the four years since our wedding day. Continue reading
Celebrating Motherhood
There are two themes on my mind and heart this Mother’s Day: community and legacy.
I celebrated my first “official” mother’s day last year right around the time that I was really starting to come out of my new mom bubble. Continue reading
In Praise of Disposable Cameras…
The single life event that is documented more than any other seems to be one’s wedding. I am kind of in love with our wedding photographs. We have canvas prints of some favorites on our gallery wall, I made shutterfly albums that contain many gorgeous pictures, and on top of that I still printed out hundreds of professional shots even though I have NO IDEA what I’m going to do with them (I think at the time maybe I thought I’d want my entire house to be decorated with wedding pictures? I was clearly not looking ahead to the fact that I’d want pictures from our marriage/family too..) And because our photographer was SO AMAZING (and also happens to be one of my incredible and closest friends) and we wanted to display her work throughout the house, I had kind of forgotten about this other stash of wedding photos I had until I was cleaning out our office… Continue reading
C is for Cleaning
We are almost a week into March already!!! That means hello spring (even though it feels a lot more like summer here) and hello Spring Cleaning Continue reading
