WOW! February has really flown by and here we are at another monthly goals check in. It was a strange month filled with fighting sickness and trying to mend my leg and all sorts of ups and downs, but it was also a month filled with progress. Continue reading

Happy August! Adjusting goals after my social media fast…
After a month of no new posts and only checking in more or less once a week on comments and social media sites, I am so excited to get back to blogging and to be more intentional about my time online and on my phone. I have a post I’ve been waiting months to share that will go live later this week, so keep an eye out, but in the meantime I’m ready to recap a bit of last month and talk about some new goals and focuses for this month: Continue reading
Happy Father’s Day!
Happy Father’s Day! I thought I’d do something a little different this year and do a blog post that is not centered around my thoughts, so instead, Continue reading
My Traditional Birthday Post
So… another year has gone by and it’s about to be my birthday again. This year was HARD. Continue reading
Chasing Butterflies
One of the greatest unexpected joys of starting our backyard garden is that it has started to attract butterflies. We don’t even have blooms yet so I’m hoping we get even more once those start to blossom. Aside from the butterflies being gorgeous, they also have a special emotional meaning for me. On being a family of four…
I haven’t written in longer than usual and part of that I already warned everyone about- having a new baby in the house means some chaos and less sleep and rebalancing routines, but there’s another better reason as well… Continue reading
The Second Child Syndrome:
When I was pregnant with my son, so many people made fun of me for things like taking bump pictures every single week and keeping up diligently with not one but two baby books. Everyone warned me that the more I did for my first child, the more any subsequent progeny would just look at with added jealousy because I wouldn’t do any of it for them since I’d be too busy chasing around baby #1.
Well… sadly they were partially right… but I’m fighting back! Continue reading
Year End Wrap Up: Chronicling
If I were to pick one category where I was most successful this year, it would have to be chronicling. This is where daily and weekly habits came together with big extra pushes throughout the year to make some serious progress. Continue reading
Cultivating Memories
As we head into the holiday season, I’ve been reflecting how best to intentionally spend my time. It feels like there’s extra pressure this year to make it special as it’s the last Christmas my son will be an only child and that makes it tempting to try and do ALL THE THINGS. But I don’t want to do all the things and feel the consequences of an already difficult pregnancy under the added stress of exhaustion. And for that matter, I don’t just want the holidays to be the time we’re consciously choosing ways to make memories with our kids. Continue reading
Chronicling: Half a Year Down!
OK, so I know that technically the year is more than halfway over, but I was super excited this morning when my shipment from Project Life’s Christmas in July sale arrived at my door after some drama with FedEx… In spite of the rain storm and destroyed box I couldn’t wait to open my order. (I know, I lead a very exciting life… but it’s the little things, right? Especially during a summer in Phoenix.) That arrival meant I could start assembling the first half of our family album for the year. Continue reading
