My husband and I snagged another date day this past weekend! It was a much needed time after a week with very little sleep and very tense news all around. When we secured our date time my only request was that we do something that would not involve us sitting down the whole time- many of our dates have been sitting at a table or sitting in a theatre and I love those, but I wanted something a tad more active. Summer Sipping: Strawberry delight!
After I posted my little reintroduction last week, I realized that I really needed to make some sort of fun, bubbly, summery drink before the summer got away from me. I mean, even if Phoenix is still experiencing ridiculously warm weather I will still want to start moving on to all the yummy fall flavors soon and so it was time to seize the fruits of summer! A Little Reintroduction
Since I know I have some new readers from my affiliate work with the Cultivate What Matters shop, I thought it would be good to continue my jump back into blogging regularly with a nice little reintroduction. So first of all WELCOME! Here’s a basic rundown about who I am, where my blog name came from, and what you can expect to read about in these posts… Continue reading
Dreaming of Fall…
Some people may negatively hurl the word “basic” in my direction for my unabashed love of fall, but I’m already dreaming of cooler weather, getting outdoors more, a sensible amount of pumpkin delights, and my other favorite fall flavors like apples, cinnamon, and caramel. I’m also especially excited about planting my fall garden and while cooler weather may take a while to reach Phoenix, we’re starting to prepare our garden now! Continue reading
The Good, the Bad, and the Beautiful of Breastfeeding…
I have to be honest with you, I started writing this post a LONG time ago. I almost posted several times but each time I got a bit self conscious and sent it back to the drafts section. But since this first week of August is World Breastfeeding Week, AND last month I hit my pie in the sky, didn’t think I could do it in my wildest dreams goal of six months breastfeeding, I thought it was finally the right time to publish these thoughts on my nursing journey. Continue reading
Happy August! Adjusting goals after my social media fast…
After a month of no new posts and only checking in more or less once a week on comments and social media sites, I am so excited to get back to blogging and to be more intentional about my time online and on my phone. I have a post I’ve been waiting months to share that will go live later this week, so keep an eye out, but in the meantime I’m ready to recap a bit of last month and talk about some new goals and focuses for this month: Continue reading
2017: How I’m doing on my goals 6 months in- and plans for the second half of the year!
So I am definitely in that weird time flux of having a baby again and feeling like everything is going so fast and so slow all at once. On the one hand I can’t believe how much has happened in the last six months. It feels like much more time should have passed for all this to be possible. On the other I feel like it has been a complete whirlwind and I’m going to blink and it will be December. I’m guessing at least some of you feel the same! I just filled out my Powersheets for the month of July and before jumping into a few things there I wanted to celebrate some of the little by little progress that’s happened during the first half of the year… Continue reading
Cultivate: The Book I’ve been SO EXCITED to share…
Cultivate: A Grace-Filled Guide to Growing an Intentional Life launched this week! I have had the pleasure of being part of the Cultivate Book Launch Team. I have been hardly able to contain my excitement and wait until launch to share this review with you all. This book came at just the right time and deals with ten lies we are prone to believe and contrasts them with God’s truths. Cultivate was written by Lara Casey, the creator of the Powersheets I’m always raving about (sorry friends, they’re sold out until next year’s batch are ready!) While the Powersheets are not specifically a Christian product, other items in the shop, such as the Write The Word Journals I love, make no secret of Lara’s faith and that faith is the central theme of this book. Dating Nightmares…
Those of you who know me know that my husband is a rockstar. We are human so we don’t have a perfect marriage but it is pretty dang wonderful and while I have no shame in shouting from the rooftops about our love, I think sometimes it can be encouraging or weirdly helpful to hear about some not so perfect times too. SO… for this post, I thought I’d flip this year’s theme of dating on its head and instead of talking about a lovely date I went on with my husband, I thought I’d share some dating horror stories from the days before I met him. (Honey, if you are reading this you may be amused but you may just prefer to skip this post… water under the whatever and whatnot…) The rest of you- brace yourselves for some of my most awkward/embarassing/frustrating moments. Continue reading
How To Not Lose Your Cool During an AZ Summer (especially as a one car family!)
Since it’s about to hit record breaking heat this week- (supposedly tomorrow? What is going on here?!?!) I thought I’d write a post about some of the things we do to survive the triple digits! Continue reading
